City woman dies of malaria

Kolkata, Oct 26 (UNI) A city woman today died of malignant malaria at Bangur Hospital, a day after she was diagnosed of having fever of mosquito borne disease, health department sources said.

Swarati Biswas (65), a resident of ward No 81 at Chetla in south Kolkata, was diagnosed of celebral malaria and admitted to the government owned hospital yesterday, breathed her last today.

The cause of death was malignant malaria, her death certificate confirmed.

With her death, the toll in mosquito bitten disease rose to ten in the city recently as cases of Dengue, Malaria and Japanese encephalitis and Chikungunya have been reported in different parts of this metropolis.
