Welfare of employees a priority for BJP govt: Gulab Singh

Shimla, Oct 25 (UNI) Himachal PWD and Revenue Minister Thakur Gulab Singh said here today that the State Government was committed to the welfare of its employees including daily wagers, contract employees besides giving all pecuniary benefits to them.

Mr Thakur said that in the light of the recent government announcement in keeping with the BJP's poll manifesto, the PWD department would regularise the services of 2351 daily wage workers who have completed 8 years of service as on 31st March, 2008.

Thereafter, they will be in Class IV and Class III category, he added.

He said that the sanction for requisite posts has also been conveyed to the Superintending Engineers so that they were regularised and placed within the Circle as per the requirement in the field.
