Three booked for assaulting police team; SI injured

Fatehgarh Sahib, Oct 25 (UNI) Three people, including a woman, have been booked for assaulting a police team at Mohamdipur village of this district.

On the statement of Sub-Inspector Tilak Raj of Mulepur police, who was admitted to Civil hospital here, police have registered a case against Balwinder Singh, his father Jioun Singh, mother Sukhwinder Kaur, all residents of village Mohamdipur under sections 353, 186, 332, 34 of the IPC.

As per information, the SI, along with other police personnel had gone to the house of the accused to find out whereabouts of a taxi-driver against whom a complaint had been registered by his brother, a police constable.

However, Balwinder Singh and his father, who were in an inebriated condition, attacked the police team and Sukhwinder Kaur also supported them.

Sources in police department said no arrest has been made so far in the case.
