Deve Gowda slams TN Govt on Vaiko's arrest

{image-Deve Gowda_25102008.jpg news.oneindia.in}Bangalore, Oct 25: Former Prime Minister and Janata Dal(S) National President H D Deve Gowda on Saturday, Oct 25 severely criticised Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi for arresting MDMK leader Mr Vaiko for expressing concern over Tamil people living in the Island nation Sri Lanka.

Addressing newspersons here, Mr Gowda opined that being a seasoned politician Mr Karunanidhi should not have gone to the extent of arresting his political foe Vaiko. "There are ministers both in Tamil Nadu and Government at the Centre who have issued more harsher and provocative statement against Sri Lanka's action against LTTE cadre than Vaiko and got away from any punitive actions" he said. The act of Tamil Nadu government on Vaiko is nothing but "peak of political vendetta" and Mr Karunanidhi being one of the few seasoned politician should not have stooped to such a low level, he added.
