Salem: Diwali with a difference at AVS college
Salem, oct 24: Communal harmony, equality and peaceful co-existence were the messages carried by the students of AVS College of Arts and Science while celebrating Deepavali.
Students, through the Siruthuli Students Club, donated cloths worth Rs 50,000 to 260 children of government schools in Chinna Goundapuram and Ramalingapuram. Learning aids worth Rs 50,000 were donated for the Ammapet Indira Gandhi Girls Higher Secondary School. The events were aimed at developing the helping tendency among students, organisers said.
