Rapist gets 7 yrs rigorous imprisonment

Satna, MP, Oct 24 (UNI) A local court has awarded seven years of rigorous imprisonment and fined Rs 1,000 to a man, who sexually assaulted a woman on gun-point.

Prosecution said that Phoolchand Patel, resident of this district's Atara village, raped a woman, resident of same village, on January 20, 2006.

The victim registered a First Information Report in this regard at Nagoud police station.

First Additional Sessions Judge Suresh Kumar Jain delivered the verdict yesterday.

Later, the culprit was send to jail.
