Panjab Univ are NZ inter varsity football champs

Patiala, Oct 24 (UNI) Panjab University, Chandigarh emerged winners in the the North Zone Inter-Varsity Football Tournament which concluded here today at the Punjabi University campus.

In the last two super league matches of the day, Panjab University edged out hosts Punjabi University by a solitary second half goal to emerge champions. The winning goal was scored in the 50th minute of play by Jaspreet Singh.

In the other match, Delhi University blanked Lucknow University, 3-0 with Kamal Rawat scoring a brace. The third goal was scored by Deepak Kumar.
