Minister's son arrested
Sagar, Oct 23 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Agriculture Minister Gopal Bhargava's son Deepu alias Abhishek has been arrested during his 'Jail Bharo Padyatra' here yesterday.
The 'padyatra' was taken out here yesterday afternoon in protest against allegations levelled by the Congress against Mr Deepu Bhargava for beating up Congress leader Bhagvan Singh.
The 'padyatra' was halted in 'Rehli' in view of prevailing tension and Mr Deepu Bhargava arrested along with BJP workers.
Mr Gopal Bhargava told a public meeting that no one in his family had misused his post and his son did not hold any political post.
Mr Deepu Bhargava said he had not beaten up anybody. Rehli Sub-Divisional Officer of Police Bhanupratap Singh said Mr Deepu Bhargava and other workers were released after some time.
The Congress has been staging demonstration demanding registering of case against Mr Deepu Bhargava since the past four days.
Three Congress workers had attempted to immolate themselves in this regard. A case had been registered against them.
