Lokayukta arrests Shirastedar for accepting bribe

Bangalore Oct 24 (UNI) Lokayukta sleuths arrested a Shirastedar of Hassan district today for allegedly accepting a bribe for showing an official favour.

A Lokayukata press release said that S Prakash Murthy, a shirastedar of Belur taluk had demanded from Murthy for making an amendment in the mutation register for his land.

The Lokayukta press release said that he had already taken Rs 1,500 and demanded another Rs 500 extra from Murthy which he was not willing to pay.

In a well laid trap, the Lokayukta police arrested him while accepting the bribe.
