JK: Katra to have multi-stored bus stand complex

Jammu, Oct 24: In a bid to streamline the traffic chaos and accommodate the rush of inter-state and intra-state buses, Katra town, the base camp of Vaishno Devi Shrine in Reasi district, is going to have a multi-storied bus stand, official sources here today said.

''The newly constructed bus stand will accommodate at least 40 buses without any difficulty and also decongest traffic, especially in Navratras and the peak seasons when heavy rush of pilgrims visit Katra to have darshan of the Bhawan,'' the sources said.

Besides, bus stand, a rest house at a cost of Rs 70 lakh has been completed on the outskirts of the town while Rs 73 crore worth water supply scheme has also been prepared to meet the water shortage in Katra, they added.
