Coach set on fire at Madurai railway junction

Madurai, Oct 24: A coach of a Chennai-bound train was set on fire when it was parked at a yard at the Madurai railway junction. Five fire tenders, 40 Fire and Rescue Services personnel and several trucks filled with water were pressed into service.

They struggled for a couple of hours before dousing the fire. The burnt coaches were at once detached from the other 15 coaches of the special train. The cause of fire was still to be ascertained, saidDivisional Railway Manager (DRM) Anil Singhal.
