2 dead, 35 hurt in separate road accidents

Kozhikode, Oct 24 (UNI) Two people, including a woman, were killed and 35 wounded, four of them seriously, in two separate road accidents in Kozhikode and Malappuram Districts today.

Police said a woman was killed and 15 injured, two of them seriously when a private bus dashed against a tree at Ulliyeri Palora in the district.

The deceased was identified as M Beena (30), a native of Thikkoti district, police said.

The bus was proceeding to Thamarassery from Koilandy in the district when the accident occurred.

In the second incident, one person was killed and 20 injured, two of them seriously, when a private bus collided with a lorry near Kalasagar cinema in Edakkara in Malappuram District.

The deceased was yet to be identified, police said, adding the seriously injured were admitted to Kozhikode Medical College Hospital.
