12 people arrested for torching cement plant at Bokaro
Bokaro, Oct 24 (UNI) At least 12 people were arrested for setting a cement plant and several vehicles on fire last night here.
The cement plant is a joint venture of Bokaro Steel Plant and Jay Pee Cement here.
Balidih officer-in-charge Chunmun Singh today said police registered a case against about 70 others and were preparing to arrest them in the same case.
Mr Singh said armed villagers at Tupkadih last night ransacked the office of the plant and set it afire and then torched many vehicles parked in the premises.
After the incident, the authorities had launched a manhunt to nab the culprits.
The locals were agitated over the denial of jobs to the displaced people at the plant.
