No graffiti in election campaign in WB
Kolkata, Oct 23 (UNI) The State Election Commission has debarred political parties from using governmnet bulidings for writing slogans on walls.
Instructions to this effect would come when the state assembly elections are announced. This was decided after a high-power meeting here yesterday, State Chief Electoral Officer Debashis Sen said.
It was decided that while government buildings were out of bounds for writing slogans, political parties will have to take written permission from owners of private houses for writing on their walls, a report published today said.
The EC recently directed the state body to interact with various state agencies and issue necessary instructons regarding the latest poll related reform.
Even while using private walls with the permission of buidling owners, the CEO said adhesive would have to be used as these were ''easily removable''.
