NABARD releases 50 percent debt waiver claims
Panaji, Oct 23 (UNI) The Goa State Cooperative Bank has received an amount of Rs 264.66 lakhs from National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) under the Debt waiver and debt relief scheme, 2008, of Government of India.
NABARD has released more than fifty percent of the claims to cooperatives and Regional Rural banks, under this scheme.
According to NABARD Chairman, Mr U S Sarangi, an amount of Rs 10,220 crore has already been released by October 16, to those banks who have submitted cerified audited claims.
The total amount in this regard will be Rs 17,500 crore, Mr Sarangi added.
