Moga remembers Chinese war hero Late Subedar Joginder Singh
Moga, Oct 23 (UNI) Homage was paid to Chinese war hero Param Vir Chakra awardee Late Subedar Joginder Singh at the war hero's memorial here today.
The ceremony commenced with a brief narration of the gallant act of the soldier, who hailed from Mahlan Kalan village of this district. Wreaths were laid by General Officer Commanding Golden Arrow Division, Maj Gen TS Gill, and other Army and civil dignitaries.
The wreath laying commenced with the buglers sounding the last post when the ceremonial guard reversed arms. This was followed by two minutes silence after which the buglers sounded the house. All religion prayers were also held.
The Late Subedar of the first battalion, the Sikh Regiment, was conferred with the nation's highest military award posthumously for his devotion to duty and bravery of the highest order and making the supreme sacrifice while leading his platoon in the defence of Tongpen La, ahead of Tawang in NEFA during the 1962 Chinese aggression.
