Minister assures employment for people affected by KSEZ

Kakinada, Oct 23 (UNI) The Union Minister of State for Defence M M Pallamraju today said people affected by the Kakinada Special Economic Zone (KSEZ) would be given preference in employment in the industrial units soon.

Participating as a chief guest at the Indiramma Sambarlu' function at Zilla Parishad High School in Uppada Kothapalli village here, he said, the farmers faced difficulties during the land acquisition for KSEZ and the Government would provide proper rehabilitation.

Mr Raju said that both the Centre and State Governments were implementing several welfare programmes for the poor and asked them to follow their footsteps. The National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme(NREGS) would benefit the agricultural labourers, as the United Progressive Alliance(UPA) Government was implementing welfare schemes, cutting across political lines, he added.

The minister had sanctioned Rs 12 crore for stoppage of sea erosion in Uppada Beach road and distributed Rs 1.7 crore under 'Pavala Vadde' scheme to 49 villages.
