Four injured in building roof collapse in IT hub

Bangalore, Oct 23 (UNI) Four people were seriously injured when a portion of the top floor of a 15-story building under construction collapsed at Whitefield business district in the city today.

Whitefield, a major IT hub, is home for a number of top national and international IT companies.

Fire Brigade sources said the roof, which was laid only yesterday collapsed following heavy rains during the last two days.

It was suspected that a few more workers could have been trapped under the debris. Rescue work was going on a war footing, the sources said.

The injured had been admitted to a hospital.
