Declare Bihar tax-free to promote investment: C P Thakur

New Delhi, Oct 23: Senior BJP member C P Thakur demanded setting up of a special cell in the Planning Commission and the Finance Ministry for the development of Bihar and that the state be declared a tax-free zone to attract investment.

Making a mention during Zero Hour in the Rajya Sabha on the recent violence against North Indians, particularly Biharis, in Maharashtra, Mr Thakur said the root cause of the violence was very little socio-economic development of Bihar for the past 20 years.

He said the government should take immediate steps for the development of the state.

He also demanded setting up of special centres for examinations which should be open to everybody.
