New Delhi, Oct 23 (UNI) A 42-year-old man and his wife were beaten-up by three car-borne men in Model Town area of North Delhi allegedly over an old dispute.
Rohit Dhingra, who owns a plastic pipes shop, was chased by three men in a car late last night while they were returning from a hospital after visiting a relative there, according to sources.
His wife Pooja was also with him when the miscreants chased them while returning from the hospital and heading towards their Vijay Nagar residence.
Rohit Dhingra's brother-in-law was admitted in Vinayak Hospital and he would visit him every night.
The attackers hit the car twice with their Maruti 800 and threw a bottle at them resulting in injuries to his wife.
Later, as they reached near Nanak Pyau the miscreants overtook the car, stopped it, draged Rohit out and beet him up, resulting in his left arm being fractured.
The incident attracted several passer-by who came to his rescue and caught two of the attackers, even as the third one fled from there.
The police PCR was called and both the accused were handed over to them. However, one of them managed to flee from the spot.
Police said the name of the arrested accused is Jasbir Singh, who during interrogation said Dhingra's father would often abuse them.
Dhingra in his version said it seems that they mistook me for someone else and that's why they attacked me.
A case has been registered this afternoon at the Model Town police station.
