1 killed, 3 injured in clashes between 2 groups in Malegaon

Nashik, Oct 23 (UNI) A 35-year-old man was killed and three others injured in clashes between two groups of the Congress in Wajeerkhed village in Malegaon taluka of the district today.

According to police sources, a meeting of the village representatives was called to elect the president of the village Tantamukti Samiti. Some people were not invited for the meeting due to which clashes broke out between the two groups belonging to the Congress. One Gokul Bhadane (35) died, whereas three others were injured.

The injured have been admitted to Wadia Hospital in Malegaon, police added.

Following the incident, strict police vigil is being maintained in the village and the situation is tense but under control, police said.

No arrests have been made so far.
