Raj granted bail of Rs 15,000 by Kalyan magistrate

Kalyan, Oct 22 (UNI) A Metropolitan Magistrate's court here today granted cash bail of Rs 15,000 to MNS chief Raj Thackeray in a rioting-cum-assault case, registered with Manpada police station in Thane district of Maharashtra.

Amid tight security arrangements, Mr Thackeray was produced before the Metropolitan Magistrate D A Jadhav at Kalyan court at around 1430 hrs. Initially, the court sent Raj to Judicial Custody till November five.

Subsequently, Thackeray's advocate filed a bail application and after a lengthy argument, the court granted him bail of Rs 15,000.

Mr Thackeray was arrested in Ratnagiri in the early hours yesterday by a police team from Kherwadi police station in suburban Bandra on charges of attacking candidates from north India, who were here to appear for a Railway Recruitment Board Examination on October 19.
