Poll campaign material market booms in Indore

Indore, Oct 22: After five years, traders dealing with election-related material are elated anticipating mega sale during the Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh scheduled on Nov 25.

''Flags, banners, posters, stickers and similar stuff for various political parties manufactured here are in great demand not only in nearby districts but also in Chhattisgarh as well'', local election material trader Mohan Sharma told the sources here.

He said the sample material of all political parties was ready and now they were waiting for the announcement of candidates.

At Indore, he said, the major demand was of campaign material for Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party.

''But now a days, the demand of material for Bhartiya Jan Shakti and Bahujan Samaj Party is also anticipated,'' he said.

Another trader said banners had been printed for different parties and names of candidates would be printed on them after the announcement of the candidates' list. The price of a flag varies from Rs 2 to Rs 10.

Local traders estimate the total turnover of poll material to be around about Rs one crore this season.
