MHA mulling proposal of IIT to give technical help fight terrorism
New Delhi, Oct 22 (UNI) The government is considering a proposal given by IIT, Kanpur to render technical support to fight terrorism by setting up a technical centre containing data and useful information for the purpose, the Rajya Sabha was informed today.
Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal said in a written reply that the IIT, Kanpur had submitted a proposal to set up a centre with the aim of providing suppport in respect of security related matters requiring scientific, technological and analytical study and expertise.
''The proposal is under consideration of the Ministry in consultation with various agencies,'' he said.
