CM Sheila Dikshit, DPCC chief J P Agarwal condemn Mah violence
New Delhi, Oct 22 (UNI) Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and DPCC president J P Aggarwal today strongly condemned the violence against north Indians in Maharashtra by activists of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena(MNS).
Expressing anguish and pain at the recent incidents in Mumbai, Ms Dikshit said parochial ideology and unleashing of violence should be condemned very strongly.
''Ours is a democracy and every citizen has the fundamental freedom to reside anywhere and avail of opportunities. After 60 years of Independence, such divisive actions to undermine our unity, integrity and harmony are really dangerous.
We should unitedly face this challenge. Our cosmopolitan image needs to be preserved at any cost,'' Ms Dikshit and Mr Agarwal said in a joint statement.
