13 people arrested in CPI(M) worker murder case
Basirhat, Oct 22 (UNI) Altogether 13 people have been arrested in connection with the murder of a CPI(M) worker and a Madrasa teacher Mohammad Alauddin at Atpukur area in North 24 Parganas district.
Police today said, Mr Alauddin was shot dead during clashes between the the supporters of CPI(M) and Trinamool Congress activists on October 20. Five others were also seriously injured in the incident.
Seven people including a local Trinamool Congress leader Jahangir were arrested on October 20 while six others arrested yesterday.
While three accused including Mr Jahangir were remanded to police custody, 10 others sent to judicial custody, police added.
