Two family members die in explosion

Bhubaneswar, Oct 21 (UNI) Two members of a family, including an 85-year-old woman, died and four others sustained burn injuries, one of them seriously, in an explosion inside a house in Gadasanput village under Kanas Police station limit of Puri district at midnight last night.

Puri Additional Police Superintendent R K Mishra said while the old wpman died on the spot, another man succumbed to injuries in the Khurda hospital.

Mr Mishra said all the four injured were admitted to the Khurda hospital, but later one of them was shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital at Cuttack after his condition deteriorated.

Though the exact cause of the explosion was not known, police suspected that some explosive materials were kept inside the house.
