Sonia to inaugurate party's state conference

Kannur, Oct 21 (UNI) Congress President Sonia Gandhi will inaugurate a three-day state conference of the party at Ernakulam on December 14, Kerala Pradesh Congress President Ramesh Chennithala said here today.

The party conference was originally scheduled to be held in November, but had to be changed due to announcement of assembly elections in six states, he said.

The state conference would be the turning point in Kerala politics, he said and claimed the situation was favourable for the Congress-led United Democratic Front(UDF).

Alleging that the CPI(M)-led Left government was a total failure in all fronts, Mr Chennithala alleged that the Dharna staged by Chief Minister V S Achutanandan and his cabinet collegues in Delhi was a farce.
