Over 22 lakh tonnes paddy procured in Haryana
Chandigarh, Oct 21 (UNI) An estimated 22.93 lakh tonnes of paddy has been procured in Haryana till yesterday evening, an official spokesman today said.
The spokesman said out of the total procurement, around 13.81 lakh tonnes had been procured by the government agencies, while the remaining had been purchased by the millers.
Kurukshetra district was leading in procurement with 5,64,264 tonnes, followed by Karnal with 4,25,772 tonnes and Fatehabad with 3,37,694 tonnes.
Similarly, 3,24,001 metric tonnes of Bajra had been arrived in the mandis of the state during current Kharif season upto yesterday.
He said out of the total Bajra arrival, 3,04,662 tonnes had been procured by government agencies, while the remaining 19,339 tonnes had been purchased by the private traders.
