Lok Sabha adjourned for want of quorum

New Delhi, Oct 21 (UNI) The Lok Sabha was adjourned this evening for want of quorum immediately after Shipping Minister T R Baalu moved the Indian Maritime University Bill, 2007 for the consideration of the House.

When a member pointed out lack of quorum in the House, the presiding officer pressed the bell but still the required number of members did not turn up, leading to the adjournment of the House.

Speaker Somnath Chatterjee, who in the meantime took over the Chair, announced the adjournment for 15 minutes till 1800 hrs.
