Khanduri to stay as Uttarakhand Chief Minister
New Delhi, Oct 21 (UNI) The BJP today ruled out any possibility of change in leadership in Uttarakhand, saying there was no dissension against Chief Minister B C Khanduri in the party.
Dismissing reports that some legislators met party President Rajnath Singh and submitted their resignations to pressurise him to change Maj Gen(retd) Khanduri, senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj said there was no such case. No one met the Party President in this regard, she averred.
''Soon after some reports appeared in a section of press that some party legislators were in Delhi to seek change of leadership in Uttarakhand, I contacted party President Rajnathji who told me that no one has met him," Mrs Swaraj told mediapersons at the party's briefing.
Mrs Swaraj said she and former party president M Venkaiah Naidu had been deputed by the party President to talk to the disgruntled partymen from Uttarakhand. ''Talks are underway and satisfactory.
Some do have taken exception to the Chief Minister's behaviour but it is not such a matter which cannot be sorted out,'' she said.
