Human chain for sake of Lankan Tamils postponed to Oct 24

Chennai, Oct 21 (UNI) The Human Chain rally scheduled for this afternoon for the sake of Sri Lankan Tamils has been postponed to October 24 due to incessant rains.

The All Party Struggle Committee announced the postponement of the rally because of heavy rains lashing the city since last night.

Meanwhile, the state government declared a holiday for all educational institutions, including schools and colleges due to the rains.

The Northeast monsoon, which is vigorous in the city and several parts of the state received heavy rains since last night.

The weather office has forecast rains for another 24 hours as the trough persists over Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh coast.
