Haryana enhances DA by 7 per cent for employees
Chandigarh, Oct 21 (UNI) The Haryana Government has decided to enhance the rate of Dearness Allowance (DA) payable to its employees from existing 47 per cent to 54 per cent of the pay with effect from July 1 this year.
Making this announcement here today; Finance Minister Birender Singh said grant of DA would put liability of Rs 140 crore on state exchequer during the current financial year.
Mr Singh also announced interest free advance of Rs 2,000 to all its class-IV employees on the occasion of Diwali. Now, an advance of Rs 2,000 would be admissible instead of Rs 1,500 earlier.
He said the advance would be recoverable in four equal monthly instalments. The entire advance would be recovered before the close of the current financial year.
He said the advance was admissible to permanent and temporary employees and also to those adhoc employees who had been continuing in service for the last one year and were likely to continue for another four months. Where, both husband and wife were employed, the advance would be allowed to one of them only, he added.
