Dr Vyathit and Dr Guleri to receive Bhasha Samman
Shimla, Oct 21 (UNI) Two eminent writers of Himachal Pradesh, Dr Gautami Vyathit and Dr Pratyoosh Guleri, have been selected for the prestigious Bhasha Samman of the Rashtriya Sahitya Academy.
Dr Vyathit and Dr Guleri would be conferred with the National level Langauge award in recognition of their immense contribution to the enrichment of the Pahari Language and encouragement to young Pahari writers, Director Langauge, Culture and Art of Himachal Pradesh, Prem Sharma told UNI here today.
He said that both the writers would be honoured with the Bhasha Samman-2007 in December and would receive a citation, a shawl and cash amount, yet to be announced by the Rashtriya Sahitya Academy.
Both the writers have contributed huge volumes of work in different genres of literature in the Himachali Pahari dilects, he added, hoping that the honour would help to bring Himachali Pahari dilects among the languages included in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution.
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal congratulated both the writers saying, ''It is a matter of pride for Himachal Pradesh that two eminent writers of the state are honoured with the prestigious award.
