UHBVN to set up 44 new substations

Chandigarh, Oct 20 (UNI) In order to ensure reliable and quality power supply to the consumers, the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) has planned to set up 44 new 33 KV substations in its command area at an estimated cost of Rs 90 crore.

The funds for this purpose will be arranged through the Rural Electrification Corporation (REC), a UHBVN spokesman said here today.

The Nigam had approved the schemes of setting up of new substations in view of upcoming load in district Ambala, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Karnal, Panipat, Sonepat, Rohtak and Jhajjar.

He said the construction work on some of these substations had already been started as per the sanction accorded by the REC.
