RBI fixes reference rate high at Rs 48.83 per USD

Mumbai, Oct 20 (UNI) The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) today fixed the reference rate for US dollar at Rs 48.83 per unit, up by 15 paise, against yesterday's rate of Rs 48.68 per dollar.

The reference rate for Euro rose by 16 paise at Rs 65.86 per unit from it last close of Rs 65.70 per unit, an RBI release said.

The exchange rates for Pound and Japanese Yen against the Rupee were quoted at Rs 85.1278 (84.3795) per Pound and Rs 47.81 (48.01) per 100 units of Yen, it added.
