NE monsoon active over Kerala, rain in Lakshadweep

Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 20(UNI) The North-East monsoon has been active over Kerala and rain occurred at a few places in Lakshadweep.

Rain or thunder showers would occur at many places in the state and in the Union territory, while very heavy rain was likely at isolated places in south Kerala during the next 48 hours, local weather office said here today.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall recorded in cm were: Thiruvananthapuram airport 13, Piravam nine, CIAL Kochi and Kayamkulam eight each.

The other chief amounts of rainfall in cm were Mannarakakkadu, Thiruvanantapuram city and Aluva six each and Alappuzha five, it added.
