Mediapeople observe dharna near Alipiri

Tirupati, Oct 20 (UNI) In protest against detention of the electronic media photographers by the TTD vigilance security official on their attempt to take video clippings of the rain sceneries at holy place Kalibata, journalists from both electronic and print media observed dharna at Alipiri (down hills) near here today.

As many as 50 mediapersons led by union leaders gathered at the Alipiri where they raised slogans against the TTD Vigilance officer Yugander and two other security officers, who obstructed the electronic media photographers and cautioned to book cases against them in case of shooting.

They demanded the TTD Chief Vigilance Security officer (CVSO) Ramanakumar to suspend the responsible officers, who misbehaved with the photographers.

After intervened by the TTD CVSO and Tirupati MLA Venkataraman, who gave assurance to take action against the responsible officers, mediapersons left the scene.

The mediapersons also warned that the agitation would be intensified if the action was not taken against the vigilance officers tomorrow.
