Kalam wishes success for Chandrayaan-I team

Hyderabad, Oct 20 (UNI) With the countdown for Chandrayaan-1, India's unmanned moon mission, beginning at the Sriharikota spaceport here today, former President A P J Abdul Kalam wished the team a grand success.

Mr Kalam, who was in the city to participate in a series of functions, wished the team ''all the best'' as the 49-hour countdown started for the launch of the spacecraft onboard India's home-grown rocket PSLV-C11 on October 23.

It was the former President, who had laid the foundation for India's ambitious Moon mission, which comes to reality with the efforts of ISRO.
