Fisherfolk observe 'bandh' against Tamils' killings in Lanka

Kanyakumari, Oct 20 (UNI) Fisherfolk here today refrained from going out to fish and also declared a 'bandh' in their villages to condemn the killings on Sri Lankan Tamils by the Island nation's defence forces.

Police said their women also took out a rally from St Anthony Church to express their solidarity with the suffering Tamils in Lanka and demanded that the Lankan government to end the ethnic crisis soon.

The shops in the villages were closed as a mark of protest against the attack on the Tamils, police added.

Rev Fathers and Rev Sisters led the procession.
