Citizens' morcha to kmc office against hike in property tax
Kolhapur, Oct 20 (UNI) People in the city today took out a morcha to the Kolhapur Minicipal Corporation (KMC) main office, demanding withdrawal of hike in property tax.
The morcha was organised under the banner of the all party action committee from shivaji chowk to KMC office.
City Mayor Uday Salokhe entered the front gate of the office and assured that he will not allow KMC administration to impose any hike on citizens through the house tax.
A special KMC general body meeting will be arranged on October 31 in which final decision to withdraw property tax hike will be taken, Mr Salokhe assured.
Morcha was led by former city Mayor R K Powar, who is also NCP city chief, BJP senior leader Subhash Vora, Dileep Pawar (CPI), besides, congress, Shiv Sena and other party leaders.
