INTUC demands increase of retirement age of private sector employees
Patna, Oct 19 (UNI) Indian National Trade Union Congress(INTUC) today demanded enhancement of retirement age of the employees working in private sectors from 58 to 60 years.
President of INTUC Dr G Sanjeeva Reddy told reporters here that retirement age of private sector employees should be increased from 58 to 60 years as their counterparts in government services were already enjoying such facilities.
Mr Reddy also demanded constitution of fourth pay revision committee for employess working in sugar industries as the Centre and several states had already implemented the recommendatations of the sixth pay revision commission, while sugar sector employees were still getting the benefits of the third pay revision commission.
He also demanded immediate issuance of notification regarding payment of 30 per cent interim relief to media persons. The post of president of the sixth wage board constituted for journalists and non -journalists was lying vacant after resignation of its earlier incumbent Justice K N Kurup and it should be filled without further loss of time, he added.
Mr Reddy favoured lifting the salary limit of employees for getting the bonus benefits, saying if industrialists had no limits to earn profits, there was no justification on imposing such limits on employees.
