CM directs officials to prepare action plan for rabi season
Hyderabad, Oct 19 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today directed the officials to prepare an action plan to provide quality seven hour power to the farm sector during the Rabi season, commencing from January next.
Mr Reddy, who reviewed the situation of power supply and demand along with State Energey Minsiter Mohd Ali Shabbir and depatment officials, said the department should take all measures to provide seven hour qaulity power in two phases daily to the farm sector with a view to increase the cultivation during the rabi season.
He said the government had succeeded in providing seven hour power to the farm sector in the present Kharif season though the consumption increased tremendously which crossed 202 million units.
The government had protected the standing crops during Kharif season though there was electricity crisis all over the country, he added.
Stating that the experts had predicted the consumption would be around 210 million during the rabi season, he asked the officials to prepare plans as per the needs.
