11 Indian fencers for Asian Junior and Cadet Championship
Patiala, Oct 18 (UNI) Eleven Indian fencers---seven girls and four boys, will represent India in the forthcoming Asian Junior and Cadet Fencing Championship slated for October 24 to 30 in Yanggu City, Korea.
The fencers are: Boys: Gisho Nidhi Kumarsain (Tamil Nadu), Padma Ritwik Ganglula (Andhra Pradesh), Nikhil Janardhan and Anil Pandya (Maharashtra).
Girls: Aparna TK and Ambily PA (Kerala), Apshara Arul, Bhawani Devi and Janani Mohan Raman (Tamil Nadu), Jasmine Kaur (Punjab), Vishwata (Andhra Pradesh).
Coach: Sagar Lagu (Kerala).
Chef de Mission: Arun Kumar Vij, secretary-general, Fencing Association of India and Joint Secretary, IOA.
The fencers are undergoing intensive training here at the NIS.
Arun Vij told UNI on the sidelines of the training camp that " We hope to do well since our fencers have worked very hard for the Championship." UNI XC HS VN1537
