UP govt hikes the limit of creamy layer for OBCs
Lucknow, Oct 18 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh government today announced to hike the limit of creamy layer for Other Backward Castes(OBCs) from existing Rs three lakh per annum to Rs five lakh per annum.
The persons from OBCs having annual income upto Rs five lakh would be the beneficiaries of the reservation in government jobs under the constitutional provision, Chief Minister Mayawati announced here today.
A decision to this effect was taken at the state cabinet meeting chaired by Ms Mayawati.
The Centre had recently hiked the limit from Rs three lakh to Rs 4.5 lakh per annum.
