Kumarasamy pays solatium to families of victims

Mandya, Oct 18 (UNI) Former Karnataka Chief Minister and JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy today paid solatium of Rs 50,000 each, from the party funds, to next of the kin of six people, who were killed in yesterday's road accident in the district.

Police said Mr Kumarasamy visited Holalu village and consoled the relatives of victims.

Apart from the six killed, 40 others were injured when a private bus skidded off the road and plunged into a sugarcane field.

The State Government had announced a compensation of Rs 5000 each to the families of the dead and Rs 1000 for the injured, .
