MP: Curfew relaxed for 6 hrs in Burhanpur
Burhanpur, MP, Oct 18: After nine days curfew was relaxed for six hours in the entire communal violence-hit Burhanpur town in Madhya Pradesh today, official sources said today.
District Collector Kerolin Khegwar Deshmukh said that the relaxation was given here from 1000 hrs to 1600 hrs and life returned to normalcy as all the markets and banks were opened.
In view of spiraling communal riots in which 9 people were killed, 27 injured and more than 500 arrested, the district administration had imposed curfew in the area on October 10.
