Curfew relaxed for 6 hours in Burhanpur

Burhanpur, Oct 18 (UNI) After nine days, curfew was relaxed for six hours in the entire communal violence-hit Burhanpur town in Madhya Pradesh today.

District Collector Kerolin Khegwar Deshmukh said the relaxation was given here from 1000 hrs to 1600 hrs and life returned to normalcy as all the markets and banks opened.

The district administration had imposed curfew in the area on October 10 in the wake of communal riots in which 9 people were killed, 27 injured and more than 500 arrested.
