CRPF jawan killed in encounter with CPI (Maoist) ultras

Chatra/Ranchi, Oct 18 (UNI) One CRPF jawan was killed during an encounter with banned CPI(Maoist) ultras near Bourasharif village under Pratap Pur police station today.

IG (Provision) S N Pradhan in Ranchi told UNI that one CRPF jawan was killed during the encounter.

Reports from Latehar said security forces from both Hunterganj police station and Pratap Pur police station were on long range patrolling this evening when the ultras opened fire on them.

During the gun battle that lasted for more than an hour, the CRPF jawan was killed.

Additional forces were rushed to the spot, police said.
