SHRC sought reply from state government: Member

Udupi, Karnataka, Oct 17 (UNI) State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) have instructed the state government to give its version on the recent attacks on Churches and Prayer halls in various places in the state.

Speaking to newsperson Mr B Parthasarathy, member, Karnataka State Human Right Commission today said that the Commission was awaiting the reactions from the state authority before the Commission arrive at the final decision on the recent attacks on Churches.

He said that the Church authorities in their petition to the SHRC also have submitted some documents and CD's relating to attacks on Churches and violence that took place later.

The SHRC also sought the openion of the State police on the incidents of Churches attack. "Once SHRC receives reply from both State Government and the State Police the commission would come to a conclusion on its findings" he said.

The SHRC also sought the details of FIR's filed by the police authorities relating to Churches attacks.

He said that the Commission had also written letter advising the authorities of both government and private colleges to set up Human Right clubs in their respective institutions to create awareness about human right among the students.
